Written by on September 22, 2019

So where are you from?

I am from the north side of Wilmington, NC know as the 9Dime

Tell us about how you got your start?

I got my start from being the life of the party and always wanting to dance at parties and be the center of attention but the Djs never played what I wanted to hear so I decided to take matters into my own hands and invest in myself so I could play whatever I wanted to hear because I enjoy and love music. I started of with a DDJ-SB and taught myself everything I know from just watching YouTube tutorials and other local Djs

How did you get your stage name?

I got my stage name from my first name split in half and the starting letter of my last name. It came easy because also because I love hip hop so much I use to be a rapper so everything pretty much fell into place and I just put the Dj in front of Ash B

What is your Production/writing/creative process?

When it comes to getting creative I try to find unique ways of doing things that’s going to make me stand out and set myself apart from everybody else and not only that but I always make sure I’m genuine and adding personality because everyone would be able to connect to me more

When did you fall in love with Hip-Hop?

I fell in love with hip-hop when I would watch Djs and how the would use the turntables to manipulate a beat like an instrument and listening to the Notorious B.I.G

Who’s in your Top 5 MCs of all time?

Notorious B.I.G, Tupac, Lil Wayne, Jay z, Kanye West

What local artist are you currently listening to that you wish to educate us on?

I would have to say Da baby right now because he’s out here right now putting on for the Carolinas putting North Carolina on the map he’s such a genius and knows exactly what he’s doing when it comes to marketing

Tell us about your first gig?

My first gig was a house party I had em turnt for a good minute but eventually I ran out of music but thankfully somebody accidentally plugg the plugg out by tripping over the cord so I kinda used that as an excuse to go home lol it saved my life

What has been your favourite career moment?

My favorite career moment would have to be opening up for David banner

What more can we expect from you?

Better yet the in the next couple of months I will be a producer/engineer & I plan to go on tour in the next 6 months with an local artist

What do you want to be remembered for?

I want to be remembered for creating an lifetime experience
